توضیحات

در ادامه‌ی درس‌های مربوط به توصیف‌ها، حالا می‌رویم سراغ یکی از مهم‌ترین ساختارها در زبان انگلیسی: مقایسه کردن (Making Comparisons)

🟦 Making Comparisons

(مقایسه کردن)

A comparative adjective is used to describe the difference between two nouns.

You use it before the word “than” to compare people, places, or things.

My house is bigger than yours.

Today is colder than yesterday.

This book is more interesting than that one.

🟦 COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES

(صفت‌های مقایسه‌ای)

For most adjectives with one or two syllables, add “-er” to make the comparative.

tall → taller

small → smaller

fast → faster

Use “than” to show the difference:

John is taller than Tom.

This car is faster than that car.

🟦 FORMING COMPARATIVES

(ساختن صفات مقایسه‌ای)

There are special spelling rules for adjectives that end in e, y, or a single consonant.

1️⃣ Adjectives ending in -e

Just add “r.”

nice → nicer

large → larger

2️⃣ Adjectives ending in -y

Change y to i and add “er.”

happy → happier

easy → easier

3️⃣ Short adjectives ending with a single consonant (CVC pattern)

Double the final consonant and add “er.”

big → bigger

hot → hotter

thin → thinner

🟦 COMPARATIVES WITH LONG ADJECTIVES

(صفات بلندتر)

For adjectives with two or more syllables, use “more” before the adjective and “than” after it.

beautiful → more beautiful

expensive → more expensive

comfortable → more comfortable

This hotel is more comfortable than that one.

My job is more difficult than yours.

💡 Don’t add “-er” to long adjecti
