🟩 What’s the Matter?

(مشکلت چیه؟ / حالت چطوره؟)

There are many ways to say you’re sick in English.

You often use the negative form — “not well” — to talk about general illness,

and use “hurts,” “ache,” or “pain” to describe specific problems.

🟩 SAYING YOU’RE NOT FEELING WELL

(بیان احساس ناخوشی)

To say what’s wrong, use the verb “to be” with “well,” “sick,” or “ill.”

You can also use “to be” with “feeling” and an adverb to explain how bad it is.

I’m not feeling well today.

She’s sick.

He’s feeling a little ill.

We’re not very well this morning.

🟢 Grammar Note:

Use “to be” + feeling + adjective/adverb to describe how you feel.

Use present continuous to show the problem is ongoing.

I’m feeling better now.

She’s feeling worse today.

🟢 Negative forms:

Use “don’t / doesn’t feel” to say you’re not OK.

I don’t feel well.

He doesn’t feel good today.

💡 US vs UK English:

In US English, people usually say “sick” (e.g., I’m sick).

In UK English, people say “ill” (e.g., I’m ill).

In UK English, I feel sick means I feel like I’m going to vomit.

🟩 HEALTH PROBLEMS

(مشکلات و دردهای بدنی)

Use “have / has” with “ache,” “pain,” or “broken” to say what’s wrong.

You can also say which part of the body hurts.

I have a headache.

She has a toothache.

He has a backache.
