Learning is defined as a relatively permanent change in behavior resulting from experience, originating from simple processes like habituation and culminating in more complex patterns such as conditioning and observational learning. Along this path, living organisms not only learn through associations between stimuli and consequences, but also rely on their cognitive capabilities to form mental maps and regulate their behavior based on prior beliefs and their degree of control over the environment. This process is aligned with the biological and evolutionary constraints of each species and, at the physiological level, leads to alterations in synaptic strength and the formation of new neural patterns across various regions of the brain. Ultimately, learning achieves its highest efficiency when accompanied by intrinsic motivation, natural curiosity, and a sense of self-efficacy, as extrinsic rewards can sometimes diminish the genuine enthusiasm for learning.
