در این درس یاد میگیریم چطور درجهی توانایی یا مهارت خودمان را با استفاده از قیدهای تقویتی (modifying adverbs) توصیف کنیم — یعنی بگوییم در انجام کاری کمی، خیلی، یا واقعاً خوب هستیم.
🟩 Describing Ability
(توصیف تواناییها)
Words such as quite, very, and really are called modifying adverbs.
You can use them before other adverbs or adjectives to show how well or how much something is true.
She sings very beautifully. 🎶
He runs really fast. 🏃♂️
They speak English quite well. 🇬🇧
🟩 MODIFYING ADVERBS
(قیدهای تقویتی)
Modifying adverbs change the strength of an adjective or adverb.
They tell you to what degree something happens or is true.
Modifying Adverb Meaning Example
quite fairly, not perfect but good She plays quite well.
very strong, excellent He speaks very clearly.
really even stronger than “very” You write really well.
📘 نکته:
اگر کاری را quite well انجام میدهی، یعنی در آن خوبی ولی عالی نیستی.
اگر کاری را very well یا really well انجام میدهی، یعنی خیلی خوب هستی.
🟩 MODIFYING ADVERBS WITH “GOOD AT”
(قیدهای تقویتی با “good at” و “bad at”)
You can also use modifying adverbs before the phrases
“good at” and “bad at” to describe how strong your ability is.
✅ Subject + be + modifying adverb + good at / bad at + gerund / noun
I’m really good at cooking. 🍳
She’s very good at swimming. 🏊♀️
We’re quite good at English. 🇬🇧
He’s really bad at dancing. 💃
